What patients say on Google
“I was excited to find a new psychiatrist, confirmed while on the call that the doctor could work with my circumstances, and was excited to begin. I made an appointment and was waiting for the email about the paperwork. I didn't receive the paperwork. When I called back to get it, they told me they decided not to take my case, but couldn't be bothered to actually tell me. They clearly aren't invested in a positive patient experience, or even basic courtesy and professionalism. If a patient cannot trust the information they give, and they can't even be bothered to tell a new patient that they changed their minds (and then avoid calling back for any reason) I certainly wouldn't trust them with my mental health. They are neither trustworthy nor caring, which is a pretty clear indication of the service one can expect. I did speak with someone at the company, who offered the usual platitudes and excuses. Perhaps the review and feedback will create positive change. However, the refusal to treat people with complex health problems (25% of Americans have at least one chronic illness, and people with chronic illness are 25% more likely to experience suicidal ideation) is widespread, despite the desperate need for care. Sadly, the lack of professionalism and absence of empathy in mental health care in this region are also notable. Given that this experience is unfortunately normal, I would be surprised (and pleased!) to see any changes in practice, policy, or even basic human decency.”
“Great for therapy, terrible for psychiatry. My psychiatrist has treated me unfairly and even at one point laughed at me after I expressed my personal issues to her. Their billing team is a mess too, I was charged an anomalous amount for a visit and despite several attempts to reach out and inquire, I never received any response as to why. On top of that their patient portal isn’t very functional, either. Edit: Now, I’m receiving continual letters from them demanding payment for services despite my signing an agreement that my card can be charged for services rendered AND their acknowledgement that they can charge my card for services rendered per our agreement. Billing team phone number keeps you on hold for an eternity. If you don’t want a headache, avoid this place.”
“Months ago when I was being encouraged (or pushed) to do therapy, I was so hesitant and maybe scared a bit. But my therapist, Erika Pilato has made it easy for me by genuinely listening and knowing what and how to make me find that comfort and security in sharing what I was going through. She led me towards the direction she felt I can try to go and made me recognize myself a lot more. Thank you Erika! You are a blessing to me and my family. I feel more aware now of my “hidden” dilemmas and concerns and how it has affected my life. She taught me how to find ways to handle my anger and anxieties and never pushed her teachings. She found a great way to “suggest” actions or reactions without the feeling of being judged. Thank you! I have a feeling of self validation now but I know, I would still need more sessions with her. She is a joy and comfort to share anything I have to vent or just talk about. Can’t thank her enough.”
“Don't like their system at all and the way things are run. Also my therapist decided to let me go basically cause she couldn't deal with my issues and dropped without any assistance on finding a new therapist. Lifestance itself it just run very poorly and not personal able at all. More company oriented”
